Parque:
Historic Mansion in a Wooded Wonderland

Formerly Hunting Hill Mansion, the beautiful Parque at Ridley Creek transports you back in time with its stately elegance and stunning grounds. If you're looking for a venue that beautifully melds the charm of a historic indoor venue with a spectacular natural setting, Parque has you covered.

Things we love about Parque:

  1. The Outdoor Terrace
Beneath the shade of towering trees, the terrace is a perfect spot for cocktails and mingling before dinner and dancing.
  2. The Bridal Suite!
With a space that is luxuriously appointed with nearly floor to ceiling windows on multiple sides, you can't go wrong getting ready in the bridal suite at Parque. It is spacious and warm, with plenty of space for even the largest bridal parties to prepare for the day.
  3. The Tiered Garden & Reflecting Pool
Ridley Creek State Park (the home of Parque) is a dream for portraits. Between the mix of stone architecture and luscious woodlands, this is one of our favorite places in the entire region to do shoots. But one of the most beautiful places in the park is the tiered gardens, which bloom in late spring/early summer and the reflecting pool, lined with tall, skinny trees and manicured greenery.

Parque:
What should we think about?

We're at Ridley Creek State Park all year long for engagements, families, weddings, and more, so we have just a few caveats.

Things to consider about Parque:

  1. The Six-legged Friends
No, I don't say that to be creepy, but we cannot encourage you enough to invest in some good bug spray for you and your wedding party. And, if you join us for a little wooded portrait session, make sure you do a thorough tick check at the end of the night. Once, Ashley even flicked a tick off a grooms' shoulder on our way back to cocktail hour, but the portraits in the woods were totally worth it!
  2. The Dance Floor
We love the ballroom, with it's historic windows on three sides and wood-paneling to create a warm, cozy atmosphere. But if you have the space filled anywhere near capacity and your friends are a dancing crowd, know that it can become tight quarters. Because of this, we find that Parque is better designed for a low-profile DJ than a multi-piece band, so make sure your entertainment vision fits into the space.
  3. The Gawkers
Parque is located in the heart of Ridley Creek State Park, one of our favorite places to go hiking on a day off - and similarly the favorite place of many other hikers and outdoors-types. Plus, it is a haven for photographers shooting sessions. All this means that there may be other people milling about the area, even while your event is going on. Between a newer permitting system and a vigilant event staff, we can honestly say that we have never encountered wedding crashers at the event, nor have we had to fight off other photographers to get "our shots."
